Quick start
A first-run walkthrough — from opening Papera to a first draft you can render and publish.
This walkthrough takes you from opening Papera for the first time to a draft you can render and, when you're ready, publish. It should take only a few minutes.
1. Open the dashboard
The dashboard is your home for projects. From the landing page choose Start
free, or go straight to /dashboard. You'll see two areas:
- Your projects — everything you've created or imported.
- Ready-made — starter projects you can open or copy to edit.
2. Create your first content
Start a project and let Papera draft the first version:
- Choose Create project and give it a topic.
- Papera researches and proposes an outline for your approval.
- Review the outline, then approve it to generate the content.
Nothing is published at this stage — you're only shaping the content unit.
3. Render an output
A content unit isn't tied to one format. On the project's flow canvas, attach a renderer to your content node to produce an output — for example a presentation or a social post. You can attach more than one; each renders from the same source.
4. Connect and publish
When you're ready to go live:
- Connect an account in Settings → Social accounts (see the Guides section — Connect a Bluesky account).
- On the canvas, add that account and link your post to it.
- Add a publish trigger, wire it to the post, and fire it.
What's next
- Prefer driving Papera from your own AI client? See MCP Content Workflow in Guides.
- Want the conceptual overview first? Head back to Intro.
That's the whole loop: draft once, render per platform, publish everywhere.
